These are 1/4 wave at VHF, coil loaded at the base and about 20" tall. I measured both antennas below 1.5 SWR and there were no apparent problems with the coax. These did increase transmit range but actually reduced reception range significantly...Its a fine little antenna and it has many farz.. Just remember that it needs a ground-plane so slap it on a cookie-pan or something. Whatever antenna you use, if you're using more than just a couple of feet of antenna-cable, be sure to get GOOD quality/LOW loss cable.. It is actually a magnet mount antenna but I removed it from the magnet and used a stainless corner brace from Home Depot.
